February 2018 Paper Pumpkin Unboxing and Alternative Projects

Image
Happy Birthday to me! Today is my birthday and I received a sweet gift of 132 Prismacolor Premier pencils!  I may post those if I can find the time. Here is my Paper Pumpkin Alternative showcase for this month (Lol).  I put these together fairly quickly and still have lots of kit to spare!  My favorite item was the linen thread, so glad to add that to my growing collection.  I am currently a demonstrator but I'm not sure I will be after March, I may not have enough sales to remain a demonstrator.  However, I love Stampin' Up! products and I do plan to continue my Paper Pumpkin subscription for now, so I'll post my monthly projects.  I have two videos for these cards you can view them below.  TFL. I just saw my Paper Pumpkin unboxing video had 52 likes!  To see this video:  https://youtu.be/DLlxibr2pA8 My second video is uploading so I'll update the post once that video is live. Happy Valentine's Day! MFT Creative Olympics Event 3 Crafty Biathalon

Image
I created this card today for the MFT Creative Olympics Event 3, Crafty Biathlon.  I don't have a ton of MFT stamps so I'm having to get creative!  This took me a while to stamp & emboss, but this is such an adorable set of images, right?  I chose a gatefold card, but I off centered the fold, and for the technique I went with Emboss Resist.   The stamps are from "Friends in the Forest" by MFT. I embossed with red & white embossing powders and used several images from the set.  Next, I brayered Picked Rasberry Distress Oxide Ink to get a pink gradient, then I wiped away the ink from the white embossing.  I splashed that with some water (and added some morning dew Nuvo drops to look like water droplets).  Next, I used  MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 2 and basically used two of the tops to create holes for baker's twine.  I also added a red button and some 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon I found at Wal-mart for $1.  I hot glued that so it won't

I'll post the MFT information a little later.  This card took me a little while longer.  I'm learning to use colored pencils and I still don't have turpenoid or gamsol yet so I'm using an alcohol marker to blend the colors, and I did mess up, but I think its acceptable considering the cuteness of this bear!  Since this is not realistic imagery, I can use whatever colors I want and I went with a sunny yellow sky!  I was going to add some blue but I was sure to mess it all up, so that will be another project.  I used Dr PH Martins Pen White to add some snow.  I tried a gel pen, but it wasn't covering well so I switched to this.  I took a small round brush and splattered some pen white ink, its subtle.  I almost started the whole thing over, but it took me awhile to get the images stamped because I had to mask so I decided to keep trying on this one.  MFT has the cutest, most adorable images!

Quick Card with Stampin' Up! Hello Easter

Image
I put this together super quick!  I've been brainstorming on how to use this Hello Easter stamp set from Stampin' Up!  The rabbit is not so cute.  But its quirky and reminds me of Tim Holtz style,  so I may use that with some of his supplies.  This is what I came up with today.  I picked up the Limeade cardstock that I was working with earlier this week and stamped with Stampin' Up! Lemon Lime Twist.  The background stamp came from AliExpress and it is a basket weave pattern.  I stamped the background with my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform, then die cut it with a stitched rectangle then inked the edges.  I layered that on some Bazzill "Quicksand" cardstock which was also on clearance.  I stamped the rabbit in a row and then the flower and tiny dot.  I love the little stamps in this set!  I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and cut the banner so that it raises off the card (like in the catalog card sample).  I finished with some white embossed
