December 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects

Image
Youtube video for these cards. These are the cards I created as Paper Pumpkin alternatives for December 2017, but for the black, lemon lime twist and calypso coral card I used the sketch at Viva La Verve for December.  Viva La Verve has the most beautiful cards.  I like to go back and look at previous challenges (but incidentally I started not being able to find them).  This is a short post today as I have holiday baking to do and I actually need to color another Christmas card, mail a few more out and pick up a last minute gift.   I have colored a super cute snowman card so when I get all versions completed I'll post those next.  Merry Christmas!

Super Cute Craftsmith Blue Blooms 12 x 12 Paper Pad Sample Card

Click here for Youtube Video previewing this card and paper pad. I made this card for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 676.  This is a square card.  I didn't stamp, I used a paper pad called "Blue Blooms" and used the sentiment, I was kind of in a hurry and also I really wanted to use this paper pad.  I flip through the pad in the video link above.  Its 12 x 12 and is a hot buy which means its only $5.99 when you catch it on sale.  This one is well worth it, these papers are beautiful and the rose papers are stunning.  The ribbon is a seasonal item I got from Michael's and the button and eyelet came from Aliexpress.

Card for Sunday Stamps Challenge 168

I created this card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge 168.  I am using the brand new bundle from Stampin' Up!, Bubble Over.  It includes the Bubble Over stamp set, and Bottles and Bubbles framelit dies.  The Bubbles and Fizz paper is not available for purchase.  You can get it with a $50 or more purchase.  I do have the paper, but I did not use it (except for the bottle cap, which I die cut from the paper).   Its a cute set, but the sentiments are somewhat plain.  On the flip side, there are 19 dies, plenty to work with and you can create cute backgrounds with the stamps.  I think they are nice stamps.  In this card, I used some lighter brown paper that came out of a journal (I like the color over the darker kraft paper).  I inked the edges and stamped the sentiment on the bottom layer.  For the smaller panel, I brayered Calypso Coral and then embossed the bubbles.  I inked the edges of the circle, and left a gradient effect.  I then used the rings stamp to create the cute back
