MFT Creative Olympics Event 1

Image
Well it turned out to be pretty dreary day,  so I decided to put this card together.  I watched a video this morning on the MFT Channel and learned they are doing an MFT Creative Olympics and I love expressing my creativity so I'm joining in!  I went ahead and went with the color palette for the MFT Color Challenge 87. This card is for Event 1, Stamping Slalom, and the challenge is to create a card using images from 3 different MFT Stamp Sets.  I used: MFT Pinstripe Background Stamp MFT Friends in the Forest MFT Wild Woodland I used the tiny stamp from Wild Woodland to stamp out the pink background and I think it is so cute!  I cut that panel using Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies.  I also added some dots to the background in addition to the little leaf.  The pink is Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink and I brayered that onto white cardstock to get a gradient color effect.  The images are stamped using the same ink.  I layered the pink panel on black and added

Bazzill cardstock is on clearance right now (locally) so I picked some up.  This one is "Limeade"  I used an outside stitched rectangle die set plus Lawn Fawn stitched trails to create the background.  I used my favorite MFT stamp set, which I just got, Friends in the Forest.  I colored the image with colored pencils and die cut it with a heart.

NEW Tim Holtz Stiches Mini Stencils and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink

For this super cute card I am using the brand new, just released  Tim Holtz Mini Stencil Set of 3.   I got them from Simon Says Stamp and of course I love them!  They measure roughly 6 x 3.  You can purchase a larger version individually.  The Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink is also new.  I am entering this into a few challenges, including Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and  Viva La Verve Monthly Challenge, February 2018. I will post a video shortly. I used outside stitched rectangle dies to create the frames.  For the outside frame I used white and used the "Dotted" stencil and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink.  For the pink interior panel I blended a layer of ink first then used water over the "Dotted" stencil to create a very soft pattern.  I used a shimmery water to give it a little shimmer but you can't really see it.  I layered that on black and added a chevron stencil to the middle in black.  I distressed the edges also.
