Who doesn't Love Splatters?

Image
So I did make another one today for the Sunday Stamps Color Challenge 169.  I'll post the color scheme in a bit, I'm on my IPad. I used Perfect Pennants from Stampin' Up! and I used the blossom builder punch, which I believe is my favorite flower punch.  I decided to make up a few flower embellishments to have on hand in the next few weeks and so this was my first!  I purchased "Bunch of Blossoms" punch, and I hope I can get something nice from that one.  It was on clearance.  I used Night of Navy to create this dark blue flower.  The gray stripe paper is from The Paper Studio and I watercolored the pink using a Flirty Flamingo Reiner.

Another Day, Another Card!

Image
I created this one based on the Inspire.Create.Challenge 008 | Sketch Challenge  I like the colors:  mint, red, white, silver with a gold Stampin' Up! button.  The sentiment is from "Beautiful Peacock" from Stampin' Up!  I am going to enter this into the "Anything Goes" Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  Plus the Sketch Challenge. I may actually add in a Peacock image in a day or two, under the bow.  Cute stamps from Sale-A-Bration.  So the ribbon actually came from Ebay.  Its 1" grosgrain, mint polka dot and its a good quality.  The white ribbon is also grosgrain, but I believe its 3/8".  I finally found some inexpensive ribbon at Wal-mart and that's were I got that one.  I used white embossing paste on the bottom portion and applied it through a retired Stampin' Up! mask.  I also applied glitter on top of the embossing paste.  I let that dry overnight and I finished it up this morning.  I have a set of die...

Simon Says Stamp You + Me Stamp Set

Image
I created this card using the You + Me stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.  I bought the stamps because I've been wanting to experiment with border stamping and that's what I have been doing!  I used a simple color palette, black, white, and a touch of Calypso Coral.  The black stripe layer was stamped using the large stripe stamp and I found it easy to line up (even though I did miss the mark once and got too close).  You need grid paper when working with this to keep everything straight.  I just didn't work without the grid paper.  I stamped the hearts using the single heart stamp and the LOVE sentiment is also from the stamp set.  I did use a ribbon on the bottom layer and I layered that on a strip of Calypso Coral.  I used an older Stampin' Up! embossing folder on the bottom layer and I kept everything relatively simple.  I did think of coloring in the hearts or adding some Calypso Coral ink splatters, but opted not too.  I e...

December 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects

Image
Youtube video for these cards. These are the cards I created as Paper Pumpkin alternatives for December 2017, but for the black, lemon lime twist and calypso coral card I used the sketch at Viva La Verve for December.  Viva La Verve has the most beautiful cards.  I like to go back and look at previous challenges (but incidentally I started not being able to find them).  This is a short post today as I have holiday baking to do and I actually need to color another Christmas card, mail a few more out and pick up a last minute gift.   I have colored a super cute snowman card so when I get all versions completed I'll post those next.  Merry Christmas!

Super Cute Craftsmith Blue Blooms 12 x 12 Paper Pad Sample Card

Image
Click here for Youtube Video previewing this card and paper pad. I made this card for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 676.  This is a square card.  I didn't stamp, I used a paper pad called "Blue Blooms" and used the sentiment, I was kind of in a hurry and also I really wanted to use this paper pad.  I flip through the pad in the video link above.  Its 12 x 12 and is a hot buy which means its only $5.99 when you catch it on sale.  This one is well worth it, these papers are beautiful and the rose papers are stunning.  The ribbon is a seasonal item I got from Michael's and the button and eyelet came from Aliexpress.

Card for Sunday Stamps Challenge 168

Image
I created this card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge 168.  I am using the brand new bundle from Stampin' Up!, Bubble Over.  It includes the Bubble Over stamp set, and Bottles and Bubbles framelit dies.  The Bubbles and Fizz paper is not available for purchase.  You can get it with a $50 or more purchase.  I do have the paper, but I did not use it (except for the bottle cap, which I die cut from the paper).   Its a cute set, but the sentiments are somewhat plain.  On the flip side, there are 19 dies, plenty to work with and you can create cute backgrounds with the stamps.  I think they are nice stamps.  In this card, I used some lighter brown paper that came out of a journal (I like the color over the darker kraft paper).  I inked the edges and stamped the sentiment on the bottom layer.  For the smaller panel, I brayered Calypso Coral and then embossed the bubbles.  I inked the edges of the circle, and left a gradient effec...

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge Sketch #363

Image
I created this card for the MFT Sketch Challenge #363.  I used the brand new bundle from Stampin' Up!, Petal Palette Bundle (includes Petals and More dies), pages 23-24 of the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  I will be filming a video showing a few card samples plus all the images and die cuts.  Its really nice.  Originally I did not order this, I thought the lines looked thick, and its the most expensive bundle,  but I'm impressed.  I did order the card pack, Petal Passion Memories & More, so its on its way to me.   The large flower stamp from Petal Palette is amazing!  For this card, I used Calypso Coral and Whisper White for the base and did a gradient color wash.  Then I stamped the dots.  The slanted paper is from a Recollections paper pad called, C'est La Vie, its French and its so adorable.  As of now, its still available for purchase.  I don't know what the pattern is called, but its very French.  I cut a sma...
